President Cyril Ramaphosa has welcomed Namibian President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah to Johannesburg for a bilateral meeting aimed at strengthening ties between South Africa and Namibia.

The meeting comes as the two neighbouring countries continue to build on decades of close political, economic and historical relations that were forged during their struggles against colonialism and apartheid

South Africa and Namibia are among each other’s most important regional partners, with strong cooperation in trade, investment, infrastructure, energy, security and regional development. Both countries are also members of SADC and SACU, organisations that play a major role in promoting economic integration across Southern Africa.

Officials say the relationship between the two nations is supported by numerous agreements covering diplomacy, defence, trade and other areas of cooperation.

The visit highlights the importance of maintaining strong partnerships within Southern Africa at a time when countries across the region are seeking to boost economic growth, create jobs and increase regional trade.

DO YOU THINK SOUTH AFRICA AND NAMIBIA SHOULD WORK EVEN MORE CLOSELY TO GROW THEIR ECONOMIES AND STRENGTHEN SOUTHERN AFRICA? 🇿🇦🇳🇦👇🔥
