Praising and Celebrating Constitutional Delinquents

Praising and Celebrating Constitutional Delinquents

While almost all stakeholders except government officials, have slammed the Speaker of the National Assembly, Nellie Mutti for being openly partisan against members of the Opposition, for stiffling freedom of expression in the House and for repeatedly subjecting members of the Opposition to unfair and ultimate punishments, a Pastor from the Seventh Day Adventist, Woodlands Congregation has found it fit to go and shower false praises to Mutti.

Dr. Daniel Chuunga, President at Woodlands Conference of Seventh-day Adventists went to congratulate Mutti for being appointed as President of the
Forum of Parliaments of Member States of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (PF-ICGLR).

Off course these awards are dubious. It’s like the recognition that Dr. Situmbeko Musokotwane is the best Finance Minister in Africa while he has been a lapdog of the IMF and has driven the Zambian economy into a coma.

This reminds of a similar incident.

When Nellie Mutti abrogated the Constitution and replaced the leadership of the Opposition in Parliament without due process, and thereby received wide condemnation, Grace Sinkamba Chairperson of the Non-Governmental Gender Coordinating Council (NGOCC) on 27th November 2023, assembled a group of women to go and offer solidarity to Mutti, a constitutional delinquent, a person stakeholders were calling on to resign.

Anyway…

Below is the statement from an excited official at Parliament heralding the meeting today.

all odds of challenges.

Of course, we have followed in the media and on television, the deliberations of Parliament and we do understand the challenges the Speaker faces in instilling discipline in the Honourable House and we want to let you know that you are on the right path, we are praying for you and the nation,” he said.

And Speaker Mutti thanked the SDA Church for its support and congratulatory
remarks on her achievements.

The Speaker has appealed to all Churches to offer moral and spiritual guidance and
advice during times when institutions like the National Assembly are grappling with critical issues that may not have been adequately addressed in public discourse, instead of resorting to social media for such discussions
Speaker Mutti also commended the Seventh-day Adventist Church for its various
programs aimed at assisting women in diverse areas, emphasizing the importance
of knowledge acquisition for personal and community development.
