POLICE REFUTES FALSE CLAIMS OF ARMED POLICE PRESENCE AT TONSE ALLIANCE LAUNCH VENUE

The Zambia Police Service has refuted false claims circulating on social media suggesting that heavily armed police officers have sealed and secured the venue for the launch of the Tonse Alliance.

Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga tells Chikuni Radio News that these reports are unsubstantiated, misleading, and intended to cause unwarranted public alarm.

Mr. Hamoonga states that the Zambia Police Service operates within the framework of transparency and accountability.

He says the law will address any behaviour that compromises public safety or seeks to erode the trust between law enforcement and the citizens of Zambia.

He urges all members of the public to verify any information regarding police operations directly with the public relations office or through the Zambia Police Service’s official communication platforms.

Mr. Hamoonga says misinformation can have serious consequences, and the Zambia Police Service remains committed to preserving peace, security, and accurate public information.
