NRPUP MOTORCADE STOPPED BY POLICE
Honourable Makebi Zulu of the National Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity (NRPUP) reported that this afternoon, while traveling from Lundazi to Mafinga, their motorcade was stopped by police officers in full riot gear at Chama.
According to Zulu, the officers demanded that they leave the district immediately and warned against passing through Chama’s central business district, claiming that doing so would amount to participating in an illegal meeting.
As a lawyer, Zulu expressed astonishment at this assertion, questioning how merely passing through a town or stopping briefly to stretch after a long journey on rough roads could possibly be considered a crime.
This incident raised concerns about the interpretation and enforcement of the law in the area.
