NORTHERN PS CALLS FOR THE ARREST OF MAYOR-ELECT PETER YUDA.
Post-election tensions have flared in Kasama. Northern Province Acting Permanent Secretary Beauty Undi-Phiri is calling for the arrest of Mayor-Elect Peter Yuda.
She accuses him of leading a crowd that stormed her home on Saturday, 15th August 2026, over claims she was diverting ballot papers.
On that day, police were deployed to provide security at Ms. Undi-Phiri’s residence after NRPUP cadres were said to have stormed her house.
Mr. Yuda denies he was ever there, calling it “hate and politics at play.”
