MUSOMA URGES ZAMBIANS TO RESIST ANY MOVE TO REMOVE PRESIDENTIAL TERM LIMIT
Zambia Republican Party President Wright Musoma has opposed calls for the removal of the presidential term limit from the Constitution.
Mr. Musoma says the calls, which he attributes to members and sympathisers of the ruling United Party for National Development, UPND, are a concern to citizens.
He argues that a President committed to national development can achieve significant progress within two five-year terms.
Mr. Musoma has also urged traditional leaders, the clergy, the Law Association of Zambia, civil society organisations, youth, student unions and citizens to oppose any attempt to remove the presidential term limit.
He further alleges that some individuals advocating for the removal of the term limit are sponsored for selfish interests.
Mr. Musoma was speaking in a press statement issued on 22nd September, 2026.
