LUSAKA POLICE COMMISSIONER REMOVED FOR FAILING TO TRANSFER JAYJAY BANDA FROM MEDLANDS HOSPITAL TO MAINA SOKO MEDICAL CENTRE

Lusaka Police Commissioner Kaanza Creto has been transfered with immediate effect.

He has been swapped with Luapula Province Police Commissioner, Roy Kashimba.

Yesterday, it took 3 hours and a big security reinforcement from State House presidential security detail to come and overrun and move JayJay Banda from Medlands Hospital to Maina Soko Medical Centre, a matter lawyers for the family has called a second state abduction of JayJay Banda.

Kaanza’s approach was to engage in negotiation looking at the state of the patient ,with the family and medical personnel at Medlands refused to have their patient, receiving emergency treatment, to be moved away.

It took a third team from State House security detail and C5 to come and forcibly remove Banda from emergency treatment.

Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Police Administration, Alita Mbahwe, has announced the changes and transfer of Police Commissioners.

Also moved and swapped are Copperbelt, Eastern and Northwestern Police Commissioners.

Moola Dennis from NorthWestern Province goes to Eastern Province while Limpo Liywali goes to the Copperbelt and Peacewell Mweemba goes to NorthWestern Province.

LUSAKA DIVISION

Lusaka Division has 23 Police Stations of which 14 are in Lusaka urban district and 9 in Lusaka Rural district.

The division has 77 Police Posts falling under various Police stations in Rural and Urban Districts.

The division currently is administered through two police districts namely Lusaka Urban and Lusaka Rural.

The province has nine (9) distrcits namely Kafue, Luangwa, Chilanga, Rufunsa, Shibuyunji, Lusaka, Chongwe including Siavonga and Chirundu. Siavonga and Chirundu are geographically located in the southern province but administratively falling under the jurisdiction of Lusaka Police Division.
