LOAD SHEDDING EXTENSION CONFUSES ZAMBIANS

LOAD SHEDDING EXTENSION CONFUSES ZAMBIANS

Citizens in Zambia are left confused and frustrated following ZESCO’s announcement that load management hours will be extended from 14 to 17 hours per day starting September 1st.

This decision comes just two weeks after the state-owned power utility company confirmed the importation of 218 megawatts of power off-peak from South Africa’s ESCOM.

The initial announcement on August 1st aimed to address the country’s power deficit and stabilize power supply for critical installations like hospitals, mines, and industries.

However, the subsequent decision to increase load shedding hours has sparked questions about the effectiveness of these efforts and the transparency of ZESCO’s communication.

As the power crisis escalates, Zambians are demanding answers and clearer updates from ZESCO and the government.
