By Barotseland Watchdog Royal Reporter
In a heartwarming and moment, our reporter today 7th June,2025 gained exclusive access to the Litunga’s Royal Palace, where a deep sense of loss and gratitude filled the air. The bond between former President Edgar Lungu and King Litunga Lubosi Imwiko II was more than just a friendship – it was a brotherhood. It was like a trouse and belt!
As our reporter witnessed, the Litunga’s eyes welled up with tears as he reflected on the profound impact Edgar Lungu had on his life and reign. With a heavy heart, he recounted the numerous ways Lungu had supported him, including providing 24-hour state security. The Litunga’s voice trembled as he acknowledged how Lungu had restored his rightful status as a king, when others had diminished him to a paramount chief.
The King’s words poured out like a river, recalling how Lungu continued to stand by him even in the face of adversity. He spoke of Lungu’s unwavering commitment to restoring the Barotseland Agreement of 1964, and how his efforts were thwarted only by the people’s rejection of the initiated dialogue.
As the Litunga’s emotions overflowed, royal tears streamed down his chest. In a moment of raw vulnerability, he confessed that no other president had loved and respected him like Edgar Lungu.
Our reporter left the palace with a deep sense of reverence, witnessing the Litunga still overcome with grief, yet surrounded by cherished memories of a truly special bond.
