Mansa East parliamentary candidate for the Leadership Movement, Ms. Loreta Soko, has withdrawn from this year’s general election after resigning from the party.

She announced her decision during a press briefing held in Mansa this afternoon.

Ms. Soko said she decided to resign due to a lack of support from the party during her campaign. She claimed she did not receive any financial, logistical, or communication assistance.

She questioned how the party expected her to campaign effectively without the necessary resources.

She said the situation made it difficult for her to reach voters.
Ms. Soko also expressed concern over her mode of transport, saying she had been using motorbikes to move around the constituency.

She described this as unsafe, especially for a female candidate.
She has since officially withdrawn her candidature for the Mansa East parliamentary seat, bringing her participation in this year’s elections to an end.
