LEADERS MUST NOT TELL LIES – Edgar Lungu

By Samuel Khwawe

Former Zambian President, Edgar Lungu, has spoken out against what he perceives as a proliferation of falsehoods among current leaders in the country.

Addressing a congregation at Reformed Church in Zambia (RCZ) main congregation in Chipata City, Lungu urged citizens to demand accountability from leaders who allegedly rely on deceit to navigate the challenges facing Zambia.

Mr. Lungu emphasized the importance of truth in governance, stating that the current leadership’s alleged propagation of lies exacerbates the already burdensome cost of living for many Zambians.

He urged the church to pray for leaders to uphold honesty in addressing the nation’s numerous challenges.

During the worship service, the 6th President made a financial contribution of K10, 000 towards the construction of a Pastor’s house, demonstrating his support for the church’s endeavors.

And Minister Allan Joe Munyuki of the RCZ Chipata congregation expressed gratitude for Lungu’s contribution and echoed the sentiment that truth, as emphasized in scripture, is essential for liberation.
