KITWE WOMAN EXPLAINS WHY SHE HAD TO STEAL A BABY FROM A STREET KID

Am sorry says Bertha

“I have been married for the past 6 years without a child, I lied to my husband that I was pregnant”

After lying to her husband of 6 years that she was pregnant, a woman of Kitwe opted to connive with her friend to allegedly steal a newborn baby from a teenager who in local parlance can be referred to as a street kid.

Unfortunately for them, the plan has backfired and they have now been arrested.

The two women, identified as Bertha Kasonde, 32, of Parklands, and Mercy Chingambo, 35, of Malembeka Township, allegedly stole the baby from Janet Mushota, 18, who is originally from Kandabwe Township.
When asked why she wanted to steal a baby, Bertha said she has been married for 6 years without a child and her hubby was at a point of divorcing her and she had to fake the pregnancy in order to maintain his marriage but unfortunately, things backfired.
