KAMBWILI PLEADS GUILTY
Former Minister of Information Chishimba Kambwili has changed his earlier position and pleaded guilty in a case of failing to appear before immigration officers.
Apparently, sentencing is expected to be handed down on june 4.
Kambwili was arrested in October 22, 2025, while in prison custody for failing to present himself to an immigration officer for exit clearance into Zimbabwe for medical treatment, an act contrary to Section 16(1) of the Immigration and Deportation Act No. 18 of 2010.
The law says any person leaving the country must appear before an immigration officer for exit clearance protocols.
Initially when the matter was brought to Court Kambwili pleaded not guilty however, when the matter was called this morning he changed plea.
