KALABA’S POLITICAL PARTY MELTS DOWN
The president and presidential candidate of Citizens First (CF), Harry Kalaba, confirmed that his running mate, Moses Mawere, has officially left the party.
Speaking in a statement issued on Friday, Kalaba acknowledged Mawere’s departure, noting that while the party had hoped he would remain, it respected his decision to join the opposition Tonse-Pamodzi Alliance.
The other week, the CF National Youth Chairperson Maxwell Chongu also resigned.
Kalaba emphasized that Citizens First is built on the values of democracy, freedom of association, and respect for individual political choices. He expressed that the party honors these principles, which underpin its acceptance of not only Mawere’s departure but also that of Chongu and Chishimba Kambwili, who similarly joined the Tonse-Pamodzi Alliance.
