KACHASU DRINKING COMPETITION SPONSOR MUST BE ARRESTED – PARENT

A parent to one of the victims of the Mazabuka Kachasu Drinking Competition over the weekend which resulted in 3 men admitted to the Hospital has called for the arrest of the sponsor of the event.

Gift Mweene told Byta FM News from the son’s bedside at Mazabuka General Hospital that authorities should ensure the organizer of the K100 worth competition be apprehended in order to deter others from initiating such competitions.

She complained that people with resources should stop taking advantage of the vulnerable in the community.

Mweene is further calling on Government to regulate production of a local brew called Kachasu, which almost claimed the lives of the victims.

And the Bar Lady at the named drinking place where the Competition took place has disputed allegations that the premises sales Kachasu.

Hope Mvala explains that the sponsor of the Competition went with the brew to the drinking place and gave it to the trio, promising to give them K100 if they finished a five liters container.
