‘JAY JAY’ OKOCHA NAMED CAF AMBASSADOR
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Augustine ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha as its Ambassador.
Augustine ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha is a Nigerian football legend and celebrated as one of Africa’s most gifted players.
Being appointed into this newly launched CAF prestigious Ambassadors Programme, he makes the list that also has other renowned football personalities.
They are El Hadji Diouf from Senegal, Ghana’s Asamoah Gyan, and former Egypt midfielder Ahmed Hassan.
CAF Ambassadors are reputed as well-known public figures who continues to play a pivotal role in promoting both CAF and African football.
These four that have been selected, were considered for ranking high in excelling in sporting and career achievements, social impact, and commercial value.
Their responsibilities as Ambassadors will entail, beyond the pitch, involving in tournaments, charity initiatives, commercial events, and other social activities.
