IT’S A MIRACLE: If Not For God, We Would Have Lost Kalaba – Katumbi

TP Mazenbe president Moise Katumbi says it’s miraculous for Zambian legend Rainford Kalaba to survive a fatal accident on April 13, 2024.

Katumbi has also paid glowing tribute to the Zambian government, UTH doctors, staff and public for working round the clock to resuscitate the life of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations winner when he was taken to the facility unconscious.

He says the prayers of Zambians who stood with Kalaba helped give his ‘son a second chance.’

Asked what Kalaba said upon seeing him, Katumbi chuckled before saying, “he said ‘my father has come.”

Katumbi dispelled assertions TP Mazembe had separated with the player saying Kalaba was now transitioning to the technical staff.

“He is a clever person. He sees and understands the game. He is still part of TP Mazembe and I sent him to Zambia because we want him to become coach,” he said.

Katumbi also disclosed that he strongly reprimanded TP Mazembe website handlers for publishing an unverified article announcing that Kalaba had died.

The former Katanga governor was delighted to have linked up with the player he called his son and witnessed that he was over 80% on the road to recovery.
