I have lost my son, Kafwaya was my son, weeps former veep Inonge Wina
FORMER Vice President Inonge Wina has wept over the death of former Cabinet minister Mutotwe Kafwaya, stating that she feels she has lost her own child.
Wina, who was speaking during Kafwaya’s funeral service in Lusaka yesterday, said the former Lunte Member of Parliament never addressed her by her official title but always called her “my mother”.
“He never referred to me as your honour, the vice president. He always said, ‘my mother’. And indeed, I have lost a son,” Wina said.
Wina said Kafwaya’s death was a painful loss not only to his family but also to the many people he touched through his political, church and social life.
She also comforted Kafwaya’s widow and urged her to remain strong for their children and take up the responsibility of raising them.
