HUNGER: RESIDENTS DEPENDING ON LEFT OVERS FROM SECONDARY SCHOOL

By Omenty Kabombeka

SOME locals in Macha Chiefdom, Choma District, are reportedly depending on leftovers from Macha Girls Secondary School owing to hunger.

A Resident in the area, Brighton Shamainda, tells Byta FM Zambia News in an interview that a number of households go to the aforementioned school to collect left over food in the name of feeding pigs, when in the actual sense, it is for their consumption.

Shamainda has appealed to government to take relief food to the area to serve locals from starvation.

But Macha Ward Councilor, Choolwe Mubambasu, insists that the leftover food collected from the local school is meant for feeding pigs and not human consumption.
