HUBBY ALLEGEDLY KILLS HIS WIFE IN COLD BLOOD IN CHINSALI

A woman of Chimilila village in Chief Muyombe’s Chiefdom of Mafinga district in Muchinga province has allegedly been murdered by her husband.

Clara Nyondo of unknown age was allegedly killed by her husband Gift Vwalika also of unknown age after the couple picked a quarrel.

ZANIS reports that Muchinga Province Police Commanding Officer Dennis Moola has confirmed the development in a statement.

Mr Moola explained that on the January 16, 2025 at around 19 hours, the couple was seen heading to Muyombe trading centre on a motorbike.

The couple later returned home drunk after which Gift differed with his mother who later left to look after her daughter who was admitted to Muyombe Hospital.

“The following day, at around 07:30 hours, a young sister to Gift Vwalika aged 11 went to check on her sister-in-law but found her still asleep and not responding when called upon,” said Mr Moola.

He said she later informed her aunt, Mirriam Mutambo aged 43 who confirmed the development and notified the village headman.

Mr Moola said that the matter was then reported to Muyombe police who visited the scene and found the deceased’s body on the floor facing upwards.

Upon physical inspection, the officers noticed a cut on the upper lip, cut on the left leg and a swollen face.

A docket of the case has been opened adding that no arrest has been made.

The body of the deceased was collected and deposited in the Muyombe Hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem examination to ascertain the actual cause of death.

A manhunt for Gift Vwalika has since been launched.
