CHAOS IN ZAMBIA

When I told you, you said I was mad. There you have it.
I’m sure you can now see the danger of following personalities instead of ideas. If you’re Zambian, I hope you can also see that my reporting was not driven by a dislike of a president. It was based on opposition to what he does.
Even before the election, I told you that his plan was to remove term limits. You said I was crazy, that it would never happen in Zambia. Now it is going to happen in Zambia.
Some of us in journalism have sources in the Zambian Cabinet and State House. We know what is being planned. When I reported that a Catholic archbishop was going to be arrested, I did not learn it in a dream.
A source in Hichilema’s State House told me that he had given the instruction, and that is why I reported it. Sometimes, however, we have to present information in a way that protects our sources.
