HICHILEMA SCARED OF 2026, HE IS FREE TO DREAM – SANGWA

Constitution Lawyer John Sangwa says President Hakainde Hichilema is so scared about the 2026 general elections.

And Sangwa according to News Diggers says President Hichilema is free to dream as the postponding of elections to eight or nine years only exist in his head.

During his address to Parliament last Friday, President Hichilema said there is a lacuna in the Constitution that would make elections be held after eight or nine years.

But Starekeholders including the Law Association of Zambia have said the article about holding elections is clear and that there is no lacuna.

Sangwa also says Hichilema’s view must not be taken serious as he has no legal education to interpret the law.

“Come hell or high waters, elections will be held in August 2026 and there is no lacuna that can prevent this from happening,” Constitutional lawyer Sangwa is quoted by News Diggers.

Sangwa says Zambians should not take anything President Hichilema says about the Constitution seriously because there is no LLB attached to his name for him to interpret the law.

He says the President is free to imagine whatever problems he sees in the Constitution but they should remain in his own head.

Sangwa has insisted that the current constitution is the best which Zambia has ever had, observing that President Hichilema is scared of the 2026 general elections.
