President Hakainde Hichilema has directed former Cabinet minister Michael Katambo to ensure that voters living far from polling stations in Masaiti are transported closer to voting centres and provided with food ahead of next week’s polls, while also warning Kafubu Water and Sanitation Company against overcharging customers and disconnecting residents.
President Hakainde Hichilema has instructed Michael Katambo to coordinate transport and food for voters residing in remote parts of Masaiti District to enable them to vote in next week’s elections.
Speaking on Wednesday during the second day of his community engagements on the Copperbelt Province, Mr Hichilema said eligible voters living long distances from polling stations should be relocated closer to voting centres on the eve of polling day.
He urged residents to wake up early and cast their ballots, while encouraging support for the governing United Party for National Development (UPND).
