“In addition to the one he sent out about a week and a half ago?” a reporter replied to Ocasio-Cortez’s statement.

“I think it’s been very clear to people across Kentucky that his update was not sufficient,” said AOC. “And, you know, I don’t know if he has a conversation with a journalist. I don’t know if he has a conversation with the governor.”

Either of those solutions would immediately solve the problem. McConnell could put this thing to bed for good by simply reaching out to Democratic Governor Andy Besehar directly or by having a sit down conversation with a reporter from a reputable news outlet.

As it stands, Kentuckians genuinely do not know right now if they have a living senior senator. There has been a constant stream of rumors and reports that McConnell is either deceased or braindead following his hospitalization for a cardiac arrest that necessitated CPR.

His “proof-of-life” photo was utterly unconvincing and could have easily been an AI-generated image or a much older photo like Republican Senator Ron Johnson has suggested. If he’s actually alive, why aren’t they releasing more evidence to prove it?

“I don’t know what his staff are doing,” continued AOC. “But we have a responsibility to the American people. We’re seeing increasingly these votes are being decided by a one or two vote margin.”

“And if you’re not capable of — not only not capable of doing the job presently — but we need to know if you’re capable of doing the job for the foreseeable future,” she added. “And that I think is tremendously important.”

It seems increasingly possible that McConnell is in fact dead and his staff is covering it up to avoid a temporary appointment by the governor followed by a special election. If that is indeed what’s going on, there needs to be a full criminal investigation!
