Democratic Alliance mayoral candidate Helen Zille has intensified her campaign for the City of Johannesburg, urging residents to register and participate in the upcoming local government elections.
Speaking at a voter registration centre in Weltevreden Park, Zille stressed that voter turnout will play a crucial role in determining the future direction of South Africa’s economic hub. She called on eligible voters not to stay at home, arguing that every vote could influence how Johannesburg is governed in the years ahead.
The veteran politician’s push comes as political parties prepare for what is expected to be a fiercely contested battle for control of the country’s largest metro, where issues such as service delivery, infrastructure, crime, corruption and economic growth remain at the centre of public debate.
With Johannesburg facing mounting challenges, Zille says the city’s future is now in the hands of voters.
