GOVERNMENT SIGNS THREE MEMORUNDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MoUs) WITH POWER CHINA INTERNATIONAL GROUP LIMITED (PCIGL).
Government through the Zambia Electricity Supply Corporation (ZESCO) has signed three Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with Power China International Group Limited in energy, agriculture and water sectors.
Here are the highlights;
Energy Sector
✅The MoU in Energy will facilitate an undertaking of a national power planning assessment for the development of energy sector projects.
✅The development of power projects is long term and capital intensive.
Agriculture Sector
✅The MoU on Cooperation in Agricultural modernisation modalities for improved and sustainable agriculture.
Water Sector
✅The MoU on Water Development and Sanitation will address constraints in Zambia’s water sector.
✅This will facilitate the formulation of a comprehensive water development plan for the Kafue catchment area.
✅The signing of the MoUs marks the commencement of the greater things to come and a milestone to achieving stability in the three sectors.
