GOVERNMENT AWARDS GRANTS AND BURSARIES TO LUSAKA SCHOLARS

The Government has disbursed grants totaling K2,144,500.00 to 78 cooperatives and K5,903,348.60 in skills and secondary school bursaries to 758 beneficiaries, comprising 674 students and 84 pupils, through the 2024 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) allocation for Lusaka Central Constituency.

During the handover ceremony, the Lusaka Central Member of Parliament, Honourable Mulambo Haimbe, stated that all funded cooperatives have fulfilled the necessary criteria, addressing a backlog dating to 2022.

Honourable Haimbe, who also serves as the Minister of Justice, announced that each cooperative is received between K25,000 and K35,000, allowing for extensive support across the cooperatives in the ward.

The lawmaker emphasized the importance of using the funds for their intended purposes to enhance the recipients’ livelihoods and secure a prosperous future.

In attendance were Independence Ward Councillor Mubotu Madyenkuku and Lubwa Ward Councillor Clement Milonga.
