The incident occurred shortly after takeoff from Banjul, the capital city of Gambia. Players lost consciousness due to a lack of oxygen, forcing the pilot to return to Banjul for an emergency landing said Janko, a former Manchester United player who was on board the aircraft. He also went on to share a video on Instagram documenting the incident.
In the video, the players can be seen disembarking from the plane. Janko expressed his frustration with the situation, stating that the intense heat and lack of oxygen caused severe headaches and dizziness among the passengers.
He emphasized the importance of addressing this issue before the AFCON tournament and called for immediate action to prevent such incidents from happening again.
