FUGITIVE FORMER PETAUKE CENTRAL MP GOES LIVE ON FACEBOOK

Fugitive former Petauke Central MP, Emmanuel Jay Banda, has gone live on his Facebook page, months after his disappearance.

Mr. Banda, who lost his parliamentary seat in 2024 due to his absence, announced a live stream scheduled for February 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM, where he plans to address several issues.

Mr. Banda’s disappearance follows charges related to an aggravated robbery and attempted murder trial stemming from offenses committed in December 2015.

The charges include theft of property valued at K12,000, including a Canon Camera (K10,000), spectacles (K1,800), two ATM cards, and K200 in cash belonging to former Post Newspaper reporter, Sukwa Muchelenga.

While in court, Mr. Banda fell ill and was admitted to Chipata Central Hospital, but he escaped police and prison custody, and authorities’ search efforts have yet to produce results.
