FAZ JUSTIFIES CHIPOLOPOLO – EUROPE CAMP.

Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) President Andrew Kamanga has justified why Chipolopolo will camp in Europe ahead of next month’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Tanzania and Morocco.

Zambia will be away to Morocco on June 8 before hosting Tanzania at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola on 11 June.

Some fans have questioned why Zambia will camp in Europe when their matches will be played in Africa.

In his weekly column, Kamanga said the choice of the Europe camp is informed by the similarities in the conditions with Morocco.

He said it will also be easier for European based players to regroup in a European country closer to their bases.

“The Chipolopolo will have a camp in Europe given that we play Morocco away before hosting Tanzania. Our choice of the camp is informed by the similarities in the conditions with the North African country,” Kamanga wrote.

“It will also be easier for our European based players to regroup in a country closer to their bases,” he said.

Meanwhile, Kamanga has asked fans to conduct themselves well during Chipolopolo’s home matches.

“Our next FIFA World Cup qualifier against Tanzania in Ndola on June 11 should present a perfect test for our fans to be at their best behavior. Our teams should be able to enjoy the comfort and homeliness of being before their own fans,” he said.
