FASHION SAKALA’S DREAM COLLISION ENDS IN HEARTBREAK AS AL-NASSR SNATCH LATE WINNER

Fashion Sakala and his Al-Fayha side were left heartbroken at home on Wednesday, falling 1-0 to Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr in the first leg of their AFC Champions League Round of 16 tie.

Sakala, who played a pivotal role in propelling his team to the knockout stages with a brace in their final group match, battled tirelessly throughout the encounter. However, it was the legendary Ronaldo who stole the show, marking his 1000th club appearance with a decisive goal in the 81st minute.

The Zambian forward and his Al-Fayha teammates put up a spirited fight, holding their own for the majority of the match. With just 10 minutes remaining, a draw seemed the likely outcome, setting the stage for a thrilling second leg. But, as fate would have it, Ronaldo had other plans.

The Portuguese maestro, renowned for his clutch performances, rose to the occasion once again. A quick one-two with Marcelo Brozović, followed by a perfectly weighted looping pass from the Croatian, set Ronaldo free, and he expertly finished into the bottom corner, silencing the Al-Fayha faithful.

The goal marks Ronaldo’s 22nd consecutive year scoring at least one goal, further etching his name into footballing history. With the away leg looming next week, Sakala and Al-Fayha face a monumental task, needing to overturn a one-goal deficit against a Ronaldo-inspired Al-Nassr.
