ECL CONTINUES TO MEET OPPOSITION LEADERS
Sixth Republican President Edgar Lungu in his continued quest to galvanize the opposition, says he will continue to meet political leaders in order to present a united front ahead of the 2026 elections.
In a message released by his office today, Lungu says dialogue, collaboration and teamwork among opposition leaders are vital in the build up to the upcoming by-elections in Pambashe, Petauke and beyond.
Today, President Lungu met with FDD President Edith Nawakwi and Citizens First President Harry Kalaba.
Kalaba, who was earlier visiting incarcerated former Lusaka Province Minister Bowman Lusambo and GBM at Mwembeshi Prison, posted on his page that he, Nawakwi and President Lungu discuss “pertinent national matters.”
This is the second time Lungu is meeting Kalaba in the last few days as anxiety builds among several opposition players to rally behind one candidate in the 2026 elections.
