COURT TO BE HELD IN POLICE CELLS FOR MAN WHO DEFECATED IN COURT AND THREW AROUND THE WASTE
A man who threw human excreta inside the Nakonde Magistrate’s Court will face his trial from the police cells.
Novic Siame, who is charged with burglary and theft, refused to enter his plea last week and started undressing at the door. He then tossed feces all over, creating a stench and a health risk.
A medical report revealed that Siame is mentally well and not as portrayed. The reason for his strange behavior is unknown.
This was the second time that Siame disrupted the court proceedings in this case.
He did the same thing in May, 2022, when he was arrested for breaking into a shop and stealing items worth K5,000.
He faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
The police had to use tear gas to stop him. He will now appear before the court at the main police station on Tuesday at 09:00hrs.
Some people believe he is trying to dodge justice or gain pity from the court.
