CHOONGO SPOTS SHODDY WORKS ON MONZE – NIKO ROAD
CHIEF Choongo of Monze District has urged Government to speed up works on the Monze – Niko Road.
Despite thanking Government for sanctioning the commencement of works on the road, he tells Byta FM News in an interview that the tar on the stretch from Monze to Mahiba is of a low standard.
Choongo notes the need to redo the stretch with proper specifications, saying the road has already started degrading.
Meanwhile, a motorist talked to by Byta FM News, Barton Handavu, has welcomed works being done on the Monze-Niko Road, stating that it will improve business in the area.
Handavu who operates a public bus says the time taken to move back and forth will be reduced.
He adds that the development will reduce the frequency of servicing and changing vehicle parts.
