CHIPOLOPOLO BOYS DEFENDER FRANKIE MUSONDA EXCITED BACK IN NATIONAL TEAM FOLD

Chipolopolo Boys defender Frankie Musonda is raring to go after making a successful return to the national team following an extended injury layoff.

Speaking to Faz Media, the Scottish-based defender expressed his disappointment at missing Zambia’s recent games, including the two World Cup qualifiers against Congo Brazzaville and Niger. Despite Zambia’s 4-2 home win and 2-1 away loss to Niger, Musonda yearned to be on the pitch alongside his teammates.

“Am really excited to be back in the Chipolopolo Camp, it was really unfortunate to get that injury which made me miss some games,” Musonda said.

Musonda rejoined the national team camp in Saudi Arabia on Thursday as they finalize preparations for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations finals in Ivory Coast. The tournament kicks off on January 13th and runs through the 14th.

Looking ahead to Group F, which pits Zambia against Morocco, Tanzania, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, Musonda acknowledges the challenge but remains confident.

“We are in a very exciting group with tough opponents, but I believe these are games we can win and we will need to work hard and have full concentration,” he stated.

He concluded by reassuring Zambian fans back home that the team is fully committed to success.

“We will be working hard and putting in all concentration on the task at hand, am sure we will be seeing your support from back home and on social media,” Musonda declared.

Zambia’s opening match against the Democratic Republic of Congo is set for January 17th, with the ultimate prize of a $7 million trophy and continental glory up for grabs.
