CHIEF CHOONGO CALLS FOR ACCEPTANCE OF ELECTION OUTCOME AND PEACE

Chief Choongo of the Tonga people in Monze District of Southern Province has commended Zambians who participated in the just-ended general elections.

Chief Choongo tells Chikuni Radio News that citizens should be proud of exercising their democratic right by taking part in the electoral process.

He has congratulated candidates who emerged victorious at various levels, including councillors, Council Chairpersons, Members of Parliament and the President.

Chief Choongo has also urged losing candidates not to be bitter over the outcome, but to accept the results and hold their heads high, saying participating in an election is a democratic right.

He has further called for peace as people across the country continue celebrating their electoral victories.

Chief Choongo says political differences should not divide Zambians, stressing the need for unity and peaceful coexistence beyond the elections.
