CABINET HOLDS FINAL MEETING AHEAD OF GENERAL ELECTIONS

President Hakainde Hichilema, earlier today, chaired the final Cabinet meeting of his administration’s first term ahead of the August 13 general elections, where he thanked ministers for their service and contribution to national development.l

President Hichilema said his government had undertaken the difficult task of stabilising the country’s economy, rebuilding public institutions and laying a foundation for future prosperity.

He noted that despite the progress achieved during the term of office, more work still needed to be done to improve the lives of Zambians.

The Head of State expressed gratitude to Cabinet ministers for their commitment and service to the people of Zambia during the administration’s tenure.

President Hichilema further called for unity and continued collective effort towards national development, saying the country must now focus on “delivering Zambia’s harvest” following the reforms and groundwork undertaken by his government.

The country is scheduled to hold general elections on August 13.
