BRIBERY SANA !! – UPND BRIBERY ALLEGATIONS A DANGEROUS PRECEDENT
According to Transparency International Zambia (TIZ), there is evidence that UPND are allegedly bribing 2026 Aspiring Candidates to withdraw from the 2026 polls, Chimuka Nachibinga, an officer from TIZ has said on Diamond TV today.
This is a serious affront to democracy and clearly highlights the ruling party’s desperation to stay in power despite many Zambians now expressing dissatisfaction with the government 2 months before elections.
Apparently, these allegations are contributing to the seeming silence by the masses which should not be mistaken for content. Usually there is calm before a storm and UPND should know better how Zambians fake a smile.
We urge ECZ and law enforcement agencies to follow up on these allegations of serious electoral malpractices leveled against the current ruling party which came into power via a protest vote against Edgar Lungu and the PF in 2021.
A number of presidential candidates have been ‘knocked-out’ of the race already with many parliamentary candidates specifically in the ruling party suddenly withdrawing. Those that have opted to go independent like Mazabuka Central political giant Garry Nkombo are already facing an uphill battle starting from the filing in process to campaign symbols and campaigns.
