ATTORNEY GENERAL CALLS FOR SADC PARTNERSHIPS TO COMBAT CORRUPTION

Attorney General Mulilo Kabesha has called for international partnerships and collaboration among Heads of Anti-Corruption Agencies in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) to enhance the investigation and prosecution of corruption.

Kabesha made this statement on Thursday in Johannesburg, South Africa, during a high-level dialogue on mutual legal assistance for SADC countries under the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.

He emphasized the need for more international partnerships to achieve the desired levels of transparency and accountability, which would lead to greater efficiency and integrity in crime investigations.

Kabesha noted that the regional high-level meeting provided a platform for engagement among stakeholders, fostering discussions aimed at enhancing collaboration in investigating and combating crime.

Meanwhile, Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Acting Director General, Monica Mwansa, highlighted the importance of the high-level dialogue as it offers a platform for information and experience sharing.
