ANOTHER HALF ZAMBIAN HAS BECOME A HEAD OF STATE KU CHALO
When I was a teen in Matero, the hot cake men in the hood because of their money were the Kasai easy to tell because they were light skinned while the other were the Senegal men very dark in complexion. The Kasai were well dressed (in white shoes) and mostly into entertainment industry.
The Senegal men were commonly called ama Senesene would disappear for weeks to the Copperbelt for mineral (Copper & Emeralds) dealings and then return with a lot of cash they would splash around. It was not unusual to witness women fight over the Kasai or Senesene men. It was the same in most townships of the Copperbelt.
Some Senesenes would marry the Zambian women and migrate back to their Countries with them . Some would have children they would leave behind after their mineral tour of duty is done. Some Senesenes would indeed take their children with them to Senegal .
As it turns out, one such child born from a Zambian woman and a Senesene Father was named Diomaye Faye born in 1980. His father lived in Twatasha Kitwe from about lates 70s before moving back to Senegal with his Zambian wife.
44 years old half Zambian Diomaye Faye won elections in Senegal last week and has been installed as the New President.
Last week Wales also elected David Gething its Prime Minister whose mother is also Zambian and father a Welsh chicken farmer in Zambia at the time about 1974.
