HH PLANS TO INTRODUCE ANIMAL LOANS

PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema says plans to introduce Animal Loans for interested individuals across the Country have reached the final stages.

The Head of State made the revelation during a rally convened at Muchenje Primary School in Masuku Ward, Choma District, on 1st January, 2024.

Hichilema highlighted that Government has introduced loans across various sectors, including agriculture, to support those not covered under the Farmer Input Support Program-FISP.

He stated that the Animal Loan Scheme will aim to facilitate the emergence of more livestock farmers among citizens, with implementation scheduled for 2024.

And Chief Cooma expressed appreciation for the innovative initiative, stating his anticipation that the undertaking will empower a lot of families.

Cooma highlighted the significance of animals as crucial assets in farming, particularly for subsistence farmers who cannot afford heavy machinery.
