HUGE VOTER TURNOUT IN LUSAKA IS SIGN OF SUPPORT FOR MUNDUBILE, CLAIMS TOONSE
Toonse Pamodzi Alliance Secretary General Chris Zumani Zimba has said that the huge voter turnout being witnessed in Lusaka is an indication that voters are rallying behind the alliance’s presidential candidate, Brian Mundubile.
Mr. Zimba said the high turnout reflects what he described as a “wind of change,” arguing that voters tend to turn out in large numbers when they are determined to change the political leadership of the country.
He expressed optimism that Mr. Mundubile will emerge victorious in today’s General Elections, citing reports from various polling stations as encouraging for the alliance.
“If you have been following voting in Zambia, you will notice one similar pattern among voters. This huge voter turnout in Lusaka confirms that Brian Mundubile is winning. People are queuing as early as 03:00 hours just to vote for change. We just need to protect the votes and we will emerge victorious,” Mr. Zimba said.
However, the turnout itself does not establish which candidate voters are supporting, as ballots are secret.
The final outcome will only be determined through the official counting and declaration of results.
