HICHILEMA TO DENOUNCE GARY NKOMBO IN MAZABUKA
A reliable source has revealed that President Hakainde Hichilema is reported to have embarked on a vigorous campaign tour across Zambia’s Southern Province, a region dear to him as his home turf.
His journey, covering strategic towns including Chirundu, Siavonga, Chikankata, and culminating in Mazabuka, is seen as a bold political maneuver aimed at consolidating support ahead of impending elections.
Reliable sources reveal that upon arriving in Mazabuka, President Hichilema is expected to adopt an aggressive stance against Gary Nkombo.
According to insiders, the President plans to sharply criticize Nkombo, accusing him of neglect and irresponsibility—claiming he appointed him Minister and worked as a member of parliament but attended parliament intoxicated, reportedly sleeping during sessions instead of championing development projects for Mazabuka.
Furthermore, the President is said to intend pointing out that Nkombo voted against Bill 7, the legislative measure responsible for delimitation, which allegedly explains the lack of delimitation in the Mazabuka constituency.
In what some describe as a strategic political gambit, Hichilema is predicted to promise Mazabuka voters that, should he win the elections, he will ensure the delimitation of their constituency—a promise that cannot be achieved considering constitutional procedures.
Concurrently, the President is expected to caution the electorate against supporting Nkombo by suggesting that a vote for the opposition could lead to political instability, even insinuating threats against his life and family.
The source said that the President aims to frame Nkombo as the principal obstacle to Mazabuka’s progress, contrasting himself and his prospective parliamentary candidate as the catalysts for future development and prosperity.
