AMBASSADOR BANDA RETURNS TO CAMPAIGN FOR PRESIDENT HICHILEMA
Zambia’s Ambassador to South Korea, Andrew Banda, says he has returned home to campaign for President Hakainde Hichilema’s re-election ahead of the August 13 general election.
Speaking shortly after arriving in the country, Banda, son of late former President Rupiah Banda, said he was impressed by the achievements recorded under President Hichilema’s administration over the past four years.
“I have come back home to campaign for President Hichilema because he has delivered,” Banda said.
He cited the Free Education Policy as one of the government’s most significant achievements, saying it had transformed the lives of millions of Zambian children by expanding access to education.
“The Free Education Policy alone has expanded access to learning for millions of Zambian children. That is real transformation,” he said.
Banda described education as a powerful tool for national development, noting that the removal of school fees had eased the financial burden on families while giving more children an opportunity to remain in school.
He also expressed confidence in President Hichilema’s leadership, saying the country needed continuity.
“With respect, Brian Mundubile is not yet ready to lead the country. This is not the time for experiments. Zambia needs steady hands,” Banda said.
