BREAKING: Mutale Nalumango’s plane crashes in Nakonde, Veep alive!
SECRETARY to the Cabinet Patrick Kangwa has confirmed that a Zambia Air Force (ZAF) aircraft carrying Vice President Mutale Nalumango was involved in an accident during take-off in Nakonde District, Muchinga Province, but the Vice President and all those on board are safe.
The Government has confirmed that Vice President Nalumango is in good health after the Zambia Air Force helicopter she was travelling in was involved in an accident while taking off during her official visit to the region.
According to Secretary to the Cabinet Patrick Kangwa, Nalumango, all passengers, and the flight crew escaped the incident unharmed.
As a precautionary measure, the Vice President was taken to a nearby medical facility for a routine medical examination and was later discharged.
“The Vice-President is in good health,” Kangwa says.
Government has commended the professionalism of the flight crew and emergency responders, while thanking the people of Nakonde for their swift assistance following the incident.
Meanwhile, investigations have been launched to establish the circumstances surrounding the accident.
Government has further confirmed that Nalumango will continue with her official programme of work.
