Trump went to Turkey today to attend the NATO summit. Do you know what he said there just a little while ago. He said Greenland should be controlled by the US not Denmark.
Let me inform you that Greenland has been with the European country Denmark for ages and the people there want to remain with Greenland. Before this Trump had said we will buy Greenland. The people of Greenland made it clear that their territory is not for buying and selling. Since then Trump has been threatening to seize Greenland. After losing the Iran war Trump is once again threatening to take Greenland. And at the NATO summit of all places. Wanting to forcibly seize the land of another NATO member state Denmark. Then understand the situation.
He then made an even bigger threat at todays summit saying the US could move all its soldiers out of Europe. Meaning he is saying either give me Greenland or all of you can take a beating from Russia together. This is the character of imperialists. They enter as your friend. Then once they have extracted what they need they leave you alone.
Anyway what you see in the photo is a new report from American media CNN. Some very important surveys have been published by CNN. The survey has been set aside separately for teaching geopolitics courses at masters and PhD level.
Several matters were surveyed. One of the questions was about support for America in the Iran war. So in Great Britain Americas number one allied nation Trumps approval has dropped to minus 50 points. In Japan it is minus 57 and in Italy minus 70. Meaning ordinary citizens of almost all American allied countries have completely withdrawn their support from Trump over the Iran war. Support is now below freezing point.
Do you know what CNNs report says. Do you know how many billion dollars America has lost since the Iran war began. All together 372 billion dollars. Just to help you understand this in perspective there are many countries in the world whose entire annual budget is 77 billion dollars. Then understand how much money America has lost because of this war.
Three reasons are given for this. Countries imposing tariffs caused nations to turn away from America resulting in a loss of 231 billion dollars. The Iran war itself cost 134 billion dollars and the tourism sector lost approximately 8.5 billion dollars.
It is said that Canadians visit America the most. Those same Canadians are no longer going to America for tourism. That is why the tourism sector has collapsed. Do you know why Canadians are not going to America. In the middle of the Iran war Trump talked about seizing Canada as well. Canadians did not like this at all.
Coming to Iran the American empire has not just faced decline. Apart from Israel they now have virtually no friends left. Even that relationship is now under threat.
In geopolitics there is a concept called imperial overstretch. Just as the British Empire once had no sunset because they had occupied so many countries but in doing so they forgot about their own homeland. The same thing is now happening to America. They have become more preoccupied with the periphery meaning other countries while neglecting their own core or mainland.
This is how empires have fallen in the past. America is walking exactly that same path.
To understand just how far American imperialism has descended into uncivilized behavior one need only look at the current football World Cup. What did Trump do. An American footballer was shown a red card. He could not play in the next match against Belgium. That is the rule for receiving a red card. Trump then called FIFA and said that was not a red card and he must be allowed to play in the next game. And what did FIFA do. Shamelessly allowed this player to play.
Let me inform you that the match between Belgium and America was watched by many people across the entire world and British television Sky News reported that the entire world sided with Belgium against the United States. Even on the streets of Belgium chants against America were heard.
Trump has been blaming Iran all this time saying Iranians constantly criticize America. Now it is not just Iran. The entire world is criticizing America.
Why does he want to seize Greenland today. There are various geopolitical reasons but the main one is that Greenland falls in the Arctic region where there are vast natural resources especially rare earth minerals needed to build military equipment particularly missiles drones and other electronics. China has the most of this and after that it is in the Arctic. That is why Trump went to China recently to beg. But China did not give. So imperialist America now wants to seize Greenland. That is why Europeans are now also realizing the true character of the American empire. Other American presidents did the same things hidden behind politeness. Trump is doing it openly. That is the only difference.
In even a simple football match they flex their power. If they could they would forcibly become champions and say we are the best. They go from country to country talking about democracy. The people of Greenland do not want to be with America. Yet Trump wants to seize Greenland. Where is democracy here. This is the character of imperialists.
