SOUTH AFRICAN COURT TO GIVE JUDGEMENT ON EDGAR LUNGU’S REPATRIATION CASE TOMORROW
South Africa’s Supreme Court of Appeal is expected to deliver its judgment tomorrow in the case concerning the repatriation of former President EDGAR LUNGU’s remains to Zambia.
The court reserved judgment after hearing submissions on May 29, 2026 from lawyers representing the Zambian Government and the LUNGU family.
The family appealed to the Supreme Court of Appeal after the GAUTENG High Court ordered that Mr. LUNGU’s body be repatriated to Zambia following a successful application by the Zambian Government.
Mr. LUNGU died in South Africa in June 2025.
