Zambia Youth Football Association (ZYFA) President Tiza Mukuka has called on FIFA to order a rematch between South Africa and Mexico following a controversial match that ended in a 2-0 victory for Mexico.
In a statement issued by Mukuka Kampamba alias Tiza Mukuka, the officiating lacked professionalism and fairness, adding that Zambians and many football fans across Africa were left dissatisfied with the manner in which the match was handled.
“On behalf all Zambians and Africans We stand in solidarity with South Africa and call upon FIFA to review the officiating of the match and consider a rematch in the interest of fair play,” Mukuka said.
Mukuka has further disclosed that ZYFA has declared Mexico win over South Africa as null and void and given FIFA 48 hours ultimatum to call for a rematch if not then no African country will ever participate in any FIFA Tournament going forward.
Mukuka maintained that African football supporters expect fairness, transparency, and professionalism in all international competitions.
The statement was signed by Tiza Mukuka, President of the Zambia Youth Football Association (ZYFA) and Youth Advocate.
