Broke men don’t cheat – KB
KB KILLA Beats, a legendary music producer, has unleashed his highly anticipated album dubbed Love and Heartbreak 2, a project that tackles various relationship aspects.
From thought-provoking songs to controversial ones, the 14-track album, which dropped yesterday, is already making rounds on various social media platforms and is sparking debate on love matters.
Broke Men Don’t Cheat is one of the songs on the album that has attracted divergent views.
On this project, KB teamed up with Rustar and one of the fast-rising stars, Apa Ili So signee, Y Cool.
The song carries a highly debatable message, as its message argues how easy it is for a woman to cheat as compared to men.
On the chorus, Rustar sings, “It’s easy for a woman to cheat, nikusamba che [they just bath], looking fresh and clean.
“Bamuna imakosako budget [for men, the budget is tight], broke men don’t cheat.”
The vocalist further asks if there were women who would date a not-well-to-do man.
To justify his argument, he says a broke man has many competing needs with his limited resources, such as paying rentals and own upkeep.
Y Cool, the self-proclaimed ‘face of LSK’, jumps in with his belief that cheating is only meant for men who are well-to-do.
He raps that it is only men with money who deal with the baby mama drama.
“Imagine, ma birthday six mu year, nikunkala allergic ku ma pics mune [imagine celebrating six birthdays in a year and you have to avoid being in pictures]. It’s only when you are broke when it’s called cheating malume [uncle], nga walikwata ati balefwaya kunjibila balume [if you have money, they blame it on others saying ‘she wants to snatch my man’].
“Either you date a broke man ukafwe nensala or you date a Solomon but life yalikala [either you date a broke man and starve or a rich womaniser].
“Broke men don’t cheat pali loyalty but akonka type yake zikakwana mu pocket [broke men don’t cheat, they are loyal, but leave for their ‘type’ once they become financially stable],” he raps.
He feels it’s easy for a rich man to tell his wife that he has gotten another woman pregnant.
Y Cool says such a man would easily apologise to his wife using luxurious presents such as cars or vacations, adding that “that’s the only language women understand’’.
On YouTube, fans are thrilled, with most of them saying the message the song carries is relatable, reports the Zambia Daily Mail!
