Mexico Defies America: Sheinbaum Vows to Keep Fueling Communist Cuba

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum is openly thumbing her nose at the United States, declaring Mexico will continue shipping oil to Cuba no matter what Washington wants.

In a blunt rejection of American sanctions, Sheinbaum dismissed any pressure as “blackmail” and made clear her government has zero interest in enforcing the US embargo on the bankrupt socialist regime.

This comes as Cuba struggles with severe energy shortages after Venezuela cut back its own subsidized shipments. Instead of letting a failing communist dictatorship collapse under its own weight, Mexico is stepping in to prop it up, putting ideological solidarity with the Castros ahead of good relations with its northern neighbor.

Sovereignty is one thing, but actively undermining US policy to sustain a repressive, anti-American outpost in the Western Hemisphere is another. Sheinbaum’s move signals Latin America’s leftist leaders are doubling down on old alliances that hurt their own people and strain ties with the Trump administration.
